My seven–it is seven even though it looks like more here! LOL– is from my current WIP, a historical romance of friends, to spouses, to enemies. :D

You left me and just come back, expecting to pick up where we left off. Well, I refuse! I moved on.”

Winston dropped her wrist and covered his face in his hands. She could hear him mumbling something, but she couldn’t make it out. He dropped his hands, capturing her wrist again. “You can’t move on. You’re bloody married.”

She blinked rapidly, the fullness of her situation finally hitting her. She’d never get away from him. Not now. She’d be stuck in a loveless marriage with a man who thought she was a whore. “You were gone. I thought that I could—”

Winston slashed a hand through the air. “Well, you can’t! I’m back. I’m not leaving. And you’re damn well not leaving…
